"Jacob and his crew are great overall. They know their products and when they came to do annual maintenance on a complicated modern furnace the job went smoothly. All my questions were answered. The system is in top condition. Awesome job."

Viessmann Boiler Installation & Repair in Rhode Island
Factory-trained Viessmann installation, repair and annual service across Rhode Island, including units another company put in.
A Viessmann is only as good as the crew behind it.
Viessmann builds some of the most efficient, longest-lived boilers on the market, stainless Inox-Radial heat exchangers, precise modulation, controls that actually earn their efficiency rating. But condensing equipment is unforgiving of casual work. Gas sizing, condensate handling, venting, water quality and commissioning all have to be right, or you paid for efficiency you'll never see. SOS is a Viessmann ViPRO certified contractor, which means factory training on exactly these systems and installs done to Viessmann's spec, not to a shortcut.
Viessmann installation
Every install starts with a real heat-loss calculation, because an oversized boiler short-cycles itself to an early grave no matter whose badge is on it. From there we handle the whole job: primary/secondary piping, gas line sizing, sealed venting, condensate neutralization, outdoor reset dialed in, permits pulled, and documented combustion analysis at startup. Most straight swaps finish in a single day, and you get the commissioning paperwork the warranty depends on.
- Vitodens wall-hung condensing boilers: the workhorse of the lineup, heat-only or combi
- Combi configurations: heat plus domestic hot water from one wall-hung unit, freeing the floor space a tank used to eat
- Boiler replacements & oil-to-gas conversions: retiring cast-iron and oil-fired systems end to end, including venting and permits
- Multi-boiler and cascade setups: for larger homes and small commercial buildings that need staged capacity
Viessmann repair, including units we didn't install
Plenty of our Viessmann work is repair, and you don't have to have bought it from us. We service every Viessmann model in Rhode Island basements, and because we're factory-trained we read the fault codes properly instead of throwing parts at the problem. Common calls we handle:
- Lockouts and fault codes: ignition failures, flame-sense faults, and the sensor problems that mimic bigger issues
- No heat or no hot water: 24/7, because a Rhode Island January doesn't negotiate
- Short-cycling and modulation problems: often a controls or sizing issue we can tune rather than replace
- Heat exchanger scaling and condensate blockages: the two quiet killers of condensing efficiency
- Circulators, zone valves and expansion tanks: the surrounding parts that strand an otherwise healthy boiler
Our vans carry the common failure parts, so most no-heat calls end with heat the same visit. If a repair genuinely doesn't make sense against the unit's age, we'll show you the math on a replacement and let you decide, no pressure either way.
Annual service keeps the warranty alive
Viessmann's long heat-exchanger warranty expects documented annual maintenance by a qualified contractor. Our annual tune-up covers combustion analysis, heat exchanger and burner cleaning, condensate neutralizer service, safety checks and control verification, and we keep the records on file, so a warranty claim is paperwork we already have. Book it online and take $20 off.
Not sure Viessmann is the right answer for your house? We size honestly and install Navien and other brands too, where the numbers point that way.

Good questions
Asked before every viessmann boilers job.
Do you repair Viessmann boilers another company installed?
Yes, routinely. You don't need to have bought the system from us. We're factory-trained on the Viessmann lineup, so we read the fault codes properly and fix the actual cause rather than swapping parts and hoping.
What does Viessmann ViPRO certification mean?
ViPRO is Viessmann's certified contractor program. It means our technicians complete Viessmann's factory training and install and commission to their specification, which is what protects both the efficiency you paid for and the long heat-exchanger warranty.
How long does a Viessmann boiler installation take?
Most straight swaps are a single day: the old unit comes out in the morning and the new system is commissioned by evening. Oil-to-gas conversions and repiping projects run two to three days, scheduled so you're never without heat overnight in winter.
My Viessmann is showing a fault code. Should I keep resetting it?
Once, maybe. Repeatedly, no. Lockouts exist to stop unsafe firing, and resetting through one can mask a real fault. Note the code, leave the unit off and call us, the code tells our tech what to bring.
Does skipping annual service void my Viessmann warranty?
Viessmann expects documented annual maintenance by a qualified contractor to honor its long-term warranty. We perform the service and keep the records, so the documentation exists if you ever need to make a claim.
Is a Viessmann worth the premium over a builder-grade boiler?
For most Rhode Island homes planning to stay put, yes, the stainless heat exchanger and modulation range translate into real fuel savings and a longer service life. We'll quote both paths honestly and let the numbers decide.
