"Jacob and his crew are great overall. They know their products and when they came to do annual maintenance on a complicated modern furnace the job went smoothly. All my questions were answered. The system is in top condition. Awesome job."

Boiler Repair & Installation in Rhode Island
Repair, annual maintenance and high-efficiency installations from factory-certified boiler specialists, with 24/7 no-heat response when it counts.
Boilers are all we heat about.
Most of Rhode Island heats with hot water: baseboard, radiators, in-floor loops. That makes your boiler the most important machine in the house from November to April. SOS repairs every major brand, maintains systems on annual plans, and installs high-efficiency condensing boilers as Viessmann ViPRO certified and Navien installers.
Repair: 24/7 when the heat is off
No heat is an emergency, full stop. Our techs carry igniters, sensors, circulators, zone valves and expansion tanks on the van, so most no-heat calls end with the system running that same visit. Strange noises, short-cycling, cold zones, pressure creeping up, bring us in before the season does its worst.
Installation: sized to the house, not the brochure
An oversized boiler short-cycles itself to an early death; an undersized one never catches up. We run a real heat-loss calculation on your home, then install a system matched to it, often a wall-hung condensing unit that cuts fuel use 20-30% against the cast-iron veteran it replaces. Navien combi units add endless hot water without a tank. Oil-to-gas conversions handled end to end, permits included.
Maintenance: the $20-off no-brainer
An annual tune-up keeps efficiency at spec, catches failing parts in September instead of January, and protects your manufacturer warranty. Request service online and take $20 off your tune-up.

What Rhode Islanders say after the fix.
"Jacob Katz always provides a timely, courteous, knowledgeable service."
"Not an easy replacement of very old corner sink and installation of new one with faucet was accomplished with good results. The existing tile fixtures had to be negotiated creatively, and they were."

Good questions
Asked before every heating & boilers job.
Should I repair or replace my old boiler?
Rule of thumb: if a repair costs more than a third of a new high-efficiency system, replacement usually wins. Modern condensing boilers cut fuel bills 20-30%. We'll quote both paths and let you decide with real numbers.
How often should a boiler be serviced?
Once a year, ideally before heating season. A tune-up includes combustion analysis, heat-exchanger cleaning and safety checks. It keeps efficiency at spec and protects your warranty. Request it online for $20 off.
Do you install tankless combi boilers?
Yes. We're certified Navien installers. A combi unit heats your home and delivers endless domestic hot water from one wall-hung system, freeing the floor space a tank used to occupy.
My radiators are cold on one floor. What's wrong?
Usually trapped air, a stuck zone valve or a tired circulator, all same-visit fixes. If one zone is chronically cold every winter, the system likely needs balancing, which a tune-up sorts out.
Do you handle oil-to-gas conversions?
End to end: sizing, gas piping, the new high-efficiency boiler, chimney or sidewall venting, permits and inspection. Most conversions pay for themselves in fuel savings within a few heating seasons.
Why does my boiler keep losing pressure?
A small leak somewhere in the loop, a waterlogged expansion tank, or a weeping relief valve. Topping it up weekly treats the symptom. We find the cause before it scales into a bigger repair.
